Nick Abbey Trio (WA)
State Theatre Centre - Rehearsal Room 1
Well known for his work in the trios ‘Abbey|Foster|Falle’ and TRISK, renowned Perth bassist Nick Abbey brings together a new standalone endeavour, the first of entirely his own music. This 2015 National Jazz Awards Finalist and three-time WA Music Industry (WAM) Jazz Song of the Year Winner is joined by the incredible talents of long-time collaborators Chris Foster - Piano and Daniel Susnjar - Drums in presenting the exciting culmination of an intense period of writing and a joyful, fiery musical rapport: honest music featuring dynamic rhythmic interplay, evocative harmonies, and catchy melodies.
As a performer, Nick has regularly collaborated with Troy Roberts, Paul Grabowsky, Jamie Oehlers, and Tom O’Halloran, and has performed with international luminaries Peter Bernstein, Vivian Sessoms, George Garzone, John Scofield, Paul Bollenback, Alex Norris, Jim Pugh, and Howard Levy.
